The Slum Boys returned to winning ways when they beat Nakuru All Stars 2-1 at the Nyayo Stadium on Friday evening.
In the sixth game since their last win it was defenders Robinson Kamurua and Noah Abich who scored for MUFC, each side of Nakuru’s Bebeto’s first half goal.
Highly acclaimed defender Robinson Kamura headed the Slum Boys first goal in after just seven minutes, but it was ruled out after seven more minutes when Bebeto tapped in the equaliser past Robert Mboya in the Mathare’s goal.
All Stars, who currently sit bottom of the KPL could have gone into the lead when Patrick Oboya’s shot was saved by Mboya.
Daniel Maura then had a good chance for MUFC but his shot fired into the side netting.
With the Slum Boys desperate to pick up the win, Eric Johanna’s trickery in the box earned him a penalty and set piece specialist Noah Abich was able to slot nom the goal. There were still more chances in the game and it looked like Harrison Mwendwa had created a perfect scoring opportunity only for Eric Johanna unable to connect the chance.
